Smoothwound Resistors
- The smoothwound resistor element is Nichrome or stainless
steel resistance alloy wire wound around a smooth porcelain
tube.
- Used for low current industrial applications up to 18
amps continuous with resistance ratings up to 5000 ohms.
- Elements range from 230 to 1100 Watts.
- Used for high resistance values or where an adjustable
slider band is required.
- Industry standard size allows for easy drop-in replacement
of other brands including Cutler-Hammer, GE, Milwaukee,
Ohmite and Post Glover
- These units are typically used for dynamic braking of
variable speed drives below 5 horsepower.
